Pilates Private Sessions

At Core Pilates Dallas, our instructors specialize in the development of individualized Pilates exercise programs with your goals in mind.

Walking into a Pilates studio for the first time can be daunting. A quick glance around will reveal a variety of machines. Pilates exercises are done on a mat or on exercise equipment developed by Joseph Pilates. The types of Pilates equipment used are the reformer, Cadillac, chair, barrel, and the ped-a-pull.

While many forms of exercise focus on strenghthening the big muscles, Pilates trains the body so that all the core muscles work together to support and stabilize the spine. You can expect an increase in strength, flexibility, mobility, balance and body awareness, as well as a decrease in back pain or other general pain.

During your session, you will learn breathing techniques, how to “find” and engage your core, and correct alignment of the spine.

Exercise modifications are the key to Pilates success with a variety of populations. All exercises are developed with modifications that can make a workout safe and challenge you no matter what level you are at. Modifications can make an exercise more or less difficult or adjust it to compensate for any physical limitation you may have.

It is important to work with a qualified instructor to ensure you are doing the movements correctly. All of our experienced certified instructors at Core Pilates Dallas will be able to modify the exercise to accommodate your limitations and continually challenge you within your own range and monitor your improvements.

Wear what you feel comfortable to exercise in. Shoes are not necessary for your Pilates session, but if you like, you may wear socks with sticky bottoms. You don’t need to bring any equipment with you. If you like to, you can bring a small towel with you and a water bottle. And now you are ready for your Pilates session!
